The BAFTA award winning Curzon Bloomsbury is one of London’s cinematic institutions – bringing the best of art-house cinema to the heart of Bloomsbury.  Built in the 1970s as an integral part of The Brunswick’s original construction, the cinema underwent a complete refurbishment in the summer of 2014, returning as a stylish six screen cinema with one screen dedicated entirely to documentaries. All screens are equipped with reclining seats and the latest cinema technology including Sony 4K projectors and Dolby Atmos sound in the main screen.

 

Curzon Bloomsbury’s renowned programme showcases the best of world cinema, plus special events including premieres, Q&As with actors and filmmakers, and live broadcasts of opera, theatre and ballet. Curzon Bloomsbury’s cafe is open daily for drinks and snacks.

 

Bertha DocHouse is the UK’s first cinema dedicated solely to documentary, based at Curzon Bloomsbury. Screening the best new releases, festival favourites, retrospective titles and curated seasons Bertha DocHouse provides an exciting platform for documentary filmmakers and nurturing a new generation of doc lovers. With a programme packed with filmmaker Q&As, masterclasses, discussions, special events and an online hub accessible from anywhere in the world, Bertha DocHouse is the home of documentary.
